Inmate Of Jato ''Aka Medium Prison'' Gun-down By HerdsMen In Benue State On Sunday.
''Markurdi'' an inmate of jato ''Aka Medium prison" kwande local government area of Benue state, was gun-down by herdsmen, firing up protest by other inmate.
The investigation to the death reveals that an indegene of the area gave in details of the prisoner going to the near by stream to take his bath and also fetch water for personal use. when some herdsmen showed up, shot him and fled. He died before the prison warden could help him (who went with him).
The inmates staged a protest in the prison, pronouncing their hatred for what happened and also the harsh treatment meted to them in the prison.
The authorities of ''Benue state prison command'' were forced to move inmates to ''Gboko Medium Prison'' to restore law and order.
