The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has invited promising Arsenal free-kick specialist, Malcolm Ebiowei to the U17 national team, according to allnigeriasoccer.com.

NFF leapfrogged the English Football Association and Royal Dutch Football Association in the race for the youngster’s services
Ebiowei has received his first ever invitation to the Nigeria squad ahead of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.

The player has also given his word that he will join the team in Abuja.
The invitation letter with reference number NFF/GEN/TECH/203 VOL.VI/6 was sent to Arsenal Football Club on August 5, 2019.

The NFF asked that Arsenal should release Ebiowei as he has been selected to join the rest of the U17 team for trials, which shall take place in Abuja on the 13th of August, 2019.

The 15-year-old also has English and Dutch citizenship and has international caps for the youth teams of both countries.

The midfielder has been described as a free-kick specialist and is capable of playing on the wing.
